Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) India Limited is a government-owned company in India that digs up a type of coal called lignite, also known as "brown coal," and uses it to create electricity. They started in 1956 and are based in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. The company is overseen by the Ministry of Coal, part of the Indian government. NLC mainly does two things: they mine lignite in places like Neyveli and Rajasthan, and they run power plants that use this lignite to make electricity, both in Neyveli and other parts of India. They're also working on using clean energy like solar and wind power, and they're always trying to find better ways to use lignite while taking care of the environment.
