The National Health Mission (NHM) in Assam, India, is a significant effort by the Government of India to make healthcare services available and affordable to all citizens, especially those living in rural and underprivileged areas. NHM Assam is a part of the larger National Health Mission program that started in 2005. NHM Assam implements various schemes and initiatives to achieve these goals, including the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) to encourage deliveries in hospitals, the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) for overall health improvements in rural areas, and the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) for child healthcare. The main goals of NHM Assam are Improved Healthcare Access and Reducing Infant Mortality and Maternal Mortality.
