The National Ayush Mission (NAM) was a government plan in India to promote traditional medicine like Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (known as Ayush). Its main aim was to improve healthcare services across the country using these traditional methods. Each state, including Assam, had its own version of NAM, focusing on upgrading healthcare facilities, supporting medicinal plant cultivation, making Ayush medicines more accessible, integrating Ayush with regular healthcare, and promoting research in these systems.
